Good design communicates ideas to your chosen audience; it highlights how your product meets a need, how your company fills a niche, or how your not-for-profit is making the world a better place. At Susan Marx Design we know that getting to good design is a process. It's really not about making pretty pictures, it's about working with you to communicate ideas to a target audience.

The process starts before any contract is signed. First we meet with you and ask focused questions that help us determine your organization's unique story, the purpose and goals of your project, and who you are trying to communicate with. During this phase, we listen carefully to your answers and work with you to determine exactly what print or web products will serve your needs. We may make suggestions and we make sure that the project is the right fit for your organization and that we are the best ones to undertake it. Once we agree on a scope, budget, and a time line, we ask that you sign a contract and provide an initial deposit.

Once the contract is signed, we turn to research. We look at your market to determine how to get the right attention from your target audience. At the same time we research production methods, making sure that what we create is not only beautiful and effective, but also feasible within your budget. When research is complete, it's time to start the design process. We develop several ideas and have you choose the option that works best. From there, we work cooperatively through a revision process to perfect the design.

Finally we move into production. We have great in-house design talent but we also have close ties to printers, web developers, and others who will help your project along. We make sure everything is just right before your project goes to print, onto the web, or otherwise out into the world.
